ReplyDeleteWell, the New Worlders already had their own god myths, and some were even more unpleasant than those of the Old World, including human sacrifice and like. I'd say the replacement of these with Old World god myths was a relative step up, from a human rights perspective.
ReplyDeleteMmmh, but the indians who didn't want to be converted were burned or tortured which is also quite unpleasant no ? :)
