Chivalry: a cheap substitute for actual consideration.

  1. Chilvalry or Chevalerie in french ? (cheval means horse). It is used only for courtesy today. Is this what you mean Sohan ?

  2. Well, in this context, it means situational deference that is, as a matter of custom, shown towards mentally-sound able-bodied "ladies" as a token reward for their expected submission to men in all other situations.

  6. Mmm, I'm not that much in favor of such behavior. I mean, women are often asking for gender equality and, according to me, this kind of behavior is going exactly on the opposite direction. :)
